Enclos de la Croix – The Blancs des Filles – Organic Red Wine of Languedoc – 100% Merlot

The enclos de la Croix is located in the heart of “la petite Camargue” between “l’Etang de l’Or” and the Cévennes mountains in the village of Lansargues. Traditionally a wine-growing village. The Vineyards’ personal background lives up to the history of its region. Built on a 24 Hectare parcel and surrounded by a charming low stone wall, the benevolent cross looks after the property. Between northern and southern winds (“Tramontane” and “Mistral”), we cultivate the vine on limestone clay soils where we prouve to be consistant in containing the energy of the stem to make a fine organic white wine.

• Limestone clay soil, on a flat landscape. Mediterranean climate.
• Vines in trellis of 7000 stocks / hectare with “Cordon de Royat” pruning.
• Grape variety : Merlot, Cabernet Franc

Winemaking Process

Made of black skin grapes “Blanc de noirs”. Direct pressurage right after harvest to avoid extraction of color and tannins. The juice is then fermented at low temperature to reveal these original aromas. Aged in vat for 6 months prior bottling. 

Wine Tasting

This wine is surprising with a fleshy attack. It will please lovers of fine and structured white wines. The finish is delicate and smooth with notes of vanilla without heaviness. Ideal as an “Apéritif”, it will also pair with fish and white meats.
